TOKYO AMAZON
Konichiwa ! I have been in Tokyo for the past few weeks eating, shopping and trying to avoid the rain !! (We got caught in the biggest rain storm in years luckily 7-11 sells reasonably priced efficient umbrellas!!). I have been shopping everyday, through every major district so I've covered alot of ground and learnt alot. Food however, has definetley been the highlight of the trip so far, particularly sweets. The Japanese seem to have an affinity with french food especially desserts, so there's been no shortage of macaroons, maple cake donuts and various creme filled pastries! Mmm-merci beaucoup! I've hit up some of the clubs too, some mainstream-ish like LeBaron, Two rooms, and some more dancey clubs like Womb and Loop. I'll be posting some footage from these places later. It hasn't all been starts and sunshine though, for the past week I have been quite sick (so strict shopping limits have been enforced) and have had to go the doctors - which however was conveinetly located next to Tokyo Tower the home of the wax mueseam- creepy, hilarious and amazing! So a lil advice to those who like to travel without insurance!! DON'T DO IT! I spent a whopping 21,000 yen on consulation and prescription..money that could have well been spent on food and clothes! So apart from the lil health mishap, it has been an exciting and interesting time + I still have a few more days here!
Lets take it from the top:
#1 - crazy pom-pom hair-tye sale in Shimokitazawa - only 50yen each!
#2 - Fruit flan frenzy at Berry Cafe in Aoyama
#3 - OPA Umbrella's from 7-11 in Shibuya
#4 - Japanese TV - The Sumo Show from my apartment in Shibuya
#5 - Socks from Daikanyama
#6 - Isaphan Macaroon (that's lychee creme in the middle of a rose flavoured macaroon with fresh raspberries) - from Pierre Hermes in Aoyama
I'll be back with more soon... ;-)
