Apart from dashing out last friday night to see my good friend Michael Kucyk dj at the Forum for a MIFF (Melbourne International Film Festival) event, the majority of my leisure time has been spent indoors writing, hibernating and 'escaping' via the Internet. Sounds boring, yes I know, but considering the mediating factors of 5 degree temperatures, post-flu trauma, and a nearing vacation which is going to cost me thousands, I think I have a pretty solid case. Nevertheless the normalization of intimate blogs and journals means I can live vicariously through other people's lives, or the very least assume the role of an active spectator and socialite, without leaving my cozy apartment!
So if you are hanging low, saving or on a budget, battling a cold, or just feeling down right lazy. Pull on some bed socks, crank up the heater and follow my guide to 'cybernating'.
Literature
Belle Place is a young writer and editorial assistant for Affirm Press here in Melbourne. She has also been known for her honest and colourful book reviews. Read her review of If I loved you, I would tell you this on the Kill Your Darlings Literature Journal here:

*note this review was up wayyyy before that of the mainstream press, including The Age, strengthening the legitimacy of online media outlets and their ability to deliver ultra timely content! One point to online media!
Art

Culture
Noted Melbourne artist, textile and graphic designer Beci Orpin takes her blogging very seriously. The girl behind label Princess Tina, the decor design in various venues including The Toff in Town, and a myriad of freelance designs for all the big players in design, Beci has a serious eye for aesthetics, a quality which is beautifully transposed in her visually exciting blog. Follow her on her many adventures animated aptly with heaps of quality photographs, most recently her trip to Tokyo (which has me so excited about my holiday!!).
